Political & Legal Environment
The Democratic Party is one of two major political parties in the U.S. along with the Republican Party. The party’s social liberal and progressive platform is largely considered center-left in the U.S. political spectrum. The party believes that government should play a role in alleviating poverty and social injustice and use a system of progressive taxation. On the other hand, the Republican Party’s platform generally reflects American conservatism in the U.S. political spectrum and is considered center-right. They emphasize the role of free markets and individual achievement rather than government as the primary factors for economic prosperity (Wiki, 2011).
The law of the United States was originally largely derived from the common law system of English law and has incorporated civil law innovations. And now it consists of four levels which are constitutional law, statutory law, administrations regulations, and the common law.
The ranking of the United Stated based on the Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International is 22th which is somewhat lower than other advanced countries. And 72% of the people in the survey predict that the level of corruption will increase, 71% predict that the current government’s actions in the fight against corruption are ineffective [Exhibition11] (TI, 2010).
Culture and Socioeconomic Environment
Total employed people are 139,064(58.4%) in 2011, the most populous job is management, professional, and related occupations (139,064) in NY. Others service occupations in US are 24,634 [Exhibition12] (Bureau of labor statistics, 2011).
In U.S. here are several organizations related in consumer. Especially, the most well known organization is U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They protect the public health by assuring that foods are safe, wholesome, sanitary and properly labeled. It advocates
