②  Relational opposite
ex) teacher/pupil, husband/wife , employer/employee (Pairs of words ending in –er and –ee are usually relational opposites.)

⇒ They display symmetry in their meaning.If X gives Y to Z, then Z receives Y from X. If X is Y’s teacher, then Y is X’s pupil.

1. Synonym
A synonym is a word or expression which means the same as another word or expression.
ex) joy=pleasure=rejoicing
result=consequence=outcome
success=accomplishment
It has been said that there are no perfect synonyms ㅡ Two words not being able to have exactly the same meaning. Still, the following two sentences have very similar meanings:
-He’s sitting on the sofa. /He’s sitting
